FDS manufacture a range of combination assault ladders for both vehicle based systems and standard ground use applications. The ladders consist of a multi-level base and sliding section, to which different length sections can be added to, to form a longer ladder.
The base and sliding section are manufactured to a similar specification as the multi-level lightweight portable ladders, complete with standard high grip rungs, nylon slides and Velcro locking straps as standard. The additional sections are fitted with nylon separation channel connectors and locked with detent type pins.
Combination ladders are supplied in both twin and triple stiles and are standard on C-RIS vehicle systems and are available as an option on PDE vehicle systems.
A range of accessories are available for these types of ladders (see Ladder Accessories) including:
Ladder Cushion Rests,
Stand-off platforms,
Foot platforms,
Stabiliser Platforms (for vehicle use only). Rubber buffers are not fitted as standard to this range of ladders due to their short length.
The CAL is made up of 5 sections, and has a fully extended height of 6.25m.
FDS recommend the Working Load Limit (Duty Rating) for this range of ladders as 240kg / 529lb at 75 degrees.

The standard TAL is available as a four part ladder and can be configured from 2.0m up to a maximum of 5.50m.
FDS recommend the Working Load Limit for this range of ladders as 350kg / 771lb at 75 degrees.
